|::| Art Nouveau
The Art Nouveau movement introduced new materials and new styles to the applied
arts at the end of the 19th century. As far as furniture is concerned, new
materials like glass and metal casts were used as part of pieces of furniture.
Nevertheless the look did not dramatically change as one might expect from
the term "Art Nouveau". Furniture in that style was still influenced by the
Louis styles (especially Louis XV and XVI) and also by the Empire style.
