Zhao Qinyung was instrumental in the excavation of the Jun kilns; which were found in 1973-74 during construction of a new factory. Site museums were erected and the site has now become the center of the Jun Porcelain Research Institute and the Jun Porcelain Company LTD a company making contemporary and historic copies of Jun ware. There were a number of other cizhou kilns near these kiln sites. Director of the Jun Institute in 1997 was Yan Fuli an industrial designer who was on the faculty of the Henan University. The porcelain company produces ware which is thrown; cast; and press molded; refining their own clay on site and firing it in kilns fueled by coke; oil; and propane.'
