Born Suzuki Chimpei. Chief pupil of the woodblock print master Ando Hiroshige who gave him the name Shigenobu. Often used his teacher's various signatures (go): Ichiyusai; Ichiryusai; and Hiroshige. Active in Edo (Tokyo) and Yokohama. Used the names Ryusho and Rissho after moving to Yokohama.
