(Grodno; Belarus, 10 May 1866 - 27 Dec 1924, Paris)

Jewish artist who settled in Paris in 1912. In Moscow he was a member of the World of Art group and founded the Ballets Russes with Serge Diaghilev in Paris. He was the dance company's artistic director.
