Hanoi. Temple of Literature.
The Temple of Literature consists of a temple and a series of buildings that functioned as Vietnam's first university. Originally founded in 1070, the temple was dedicated to Confucius. It was reconstructed in the 13th century, then destroyed and restored at various times since, although it retains much of its ancient style. The temple was restored/ rebuilt in 1999. Altars to four of Confucius' major disciples, which include Mecius and Xun Zi ,were placed on either side of his altar.
