Shows a member of the Iwoki guild that protected the royal guns and the oba. In 1897 the British captain James Philips ostensibly on his way to investigate reports of human sacrifice was ambushed and killed. In fact he hoped to loot Benin to redress the unprofitability of its trade. In response the British army deposed the oba and plundered Benin.
