We will complete the lesson with a brief look at Olympia, the place where the Olympics began, and at the sculpture from the Temple of Zeus at Olympia. This model of Olympia shows where the temple once stood. Behind it you can see the stadium where the athletes competed in honor of Zeus. In front of it you can see the small temples erected by the various city states that competed in the games. Statues of victors lined the paths that led to the temple.
