The speed of the action has really increased in this detail, for the horses crash against each other and tumble along with the knights. The artist has been able to capture the intense heat of battle in a very effective way. The forms are all two-dimensional, but they create very lively outlines.
Harold was killed at the Battle of Hastings in 1066 and William became King of England.
