Daughter of Ferdinand III King of Castille and Leon, Eleanor was the first wife of Edward I of England.They were married in 1254 when he was 15 and she was 9. On her way to join the king in Scotland, was died near Lincoln. Her embalmed body was buried in Westerminster Abbey. The kind was devistated and ordered a cross to be erected everywhere she had stopped on her journey.
