This was Paul Cezanne’s first etching and is considered one of his best. At this time he was working in an intense form of highly emotional Realism before developing his more famous Post-Impressionist style in the 1880s. This print was made under the guidance of Dr. Gachet who also taught etching to van Gogh. ©Lanier Graham
