"Originally built as Palais Prinz Heinrich, a city residence for Prince Friedrich Heinrich Ludwig of Prussia, and possibly based on designs by Georg Wenceslaus von Knobelsdorff. In 1809, Friedrich Wilhelm III transferred ownership to Berlin University and the palace became Friedrich-Wilhelm University. In 1949, it was renamed Humboldt University."
