"In each of the temples that Gudea built or rebuilt, he placed a ìtemple coneî or ìdedication nailî such as this one inside the walls. A similar tradition continues in the foundation stone of modern construction. Many are of a similar shape and carry a similar inscription which reads: ìGudea built [or restored] this temple for Lord Ningirsu. his Lord.î "
