From Henry VI Part II. In 1441, Eleanor Cobham the Duchess of Gloucester was accused of treason and sorcery. She had requested the Witch of Eye to create a wax figure of the king so that the king would slowly die as the figure melted. The duchess was condemned to perform penance of walking through London for 3 days carrying a lighted taper.
