"The heart of David Livingstone (1813-1873) is buried under a tree and the wood from that tree was used to make the cross. In 1861, Dr. Livingstone saw 400 people in a village slaughtered by two Arab traders at a slave market. He tried unsuccessfully to stop the massacre and after that he fought slavery to the end of his life."
