This detail shows William's ship builders selecting the appropriate timber and building the boats that will be needed to ferry his army across the channel. Other details illustrate the arms and horses being loaded and then ferried across the channel, the landing, the preparation of a dirt fortification, the clearing of houses around the proposed site of the battle, the preparations for a banquet the night before the battle and many details of the battle itself.
