Fallen Tunnel Tree.
21st c American Topographical View
Oliver SEELY Jr.
(1939 - )
Mariposa Grove, Yosemite National Park. Fresno. California. United States.
Originally known as the Wawona Tunnel Tree, the original cut was accomplished in 1881 offering a drive-through for millions of visitors until 1969 when it fell under a record snowpack. The cut may have caused premature death by a thousand years. One can imagine the three bulges at the top to be the same root nodules on the right side of image osus0012.
