The game was Chunkey was extremely popular throughout the entire Mississipian region. It was played in a central plaza which was sprinkled with sand. The chunkey stone was rolled and opposing players threw their spears at the stone anticipating where it would stop. , with the one whose spear came the closest to the stone was the victor. Betting was ferocious, with men betting their weapons, their jewelry and even their wives. Housed in Tennessee State Museum which was built by Charles R. Knight.
