The complex of the Roman Baths contains a Roman Temple, a Roman Bath house and the Sacred Spring with its warm curative waters. The first shrine was built by the Celts and dedicated to Sulis. The Romans used her name for the town, Aqua Sulis, that it founded on the site. They constructed the temple between 60-70 and contiued to develop the bath complex during the following two centuries.
